2. Data we collect and why
Trial key requests
When you request a free trial key, we collect your name and email address. We use this to deliver your license key, prevent duplicate trial requests per email address, and send occasional product updates if you have opted in. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Subscriptions and payments
Payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland). We receive your email address and Stripe customer ID to deliver your license key and manage your subscription. We do not store your card details — these remain with Stripe. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.
Transactional emails
License key delivery and subscription confirmation emails are sent via Resend (Resend Inc., 2261 Market Street #5137, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). Only your email address and the license key are shared with Resend for delivery purposes.
CLI telemetry
The SensorChaos CLI does not collect or transmit any telemetry, usage data, or crash reports. License key validation calls made by the CLI include your key and a timestamp only — no device identifiers, scenario names, or run results are sent to our servers.
Infrastructure logs
Our API runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP address, timestamp, HTTP method, response code) in accordance with their Privacy Policy. We do not access or store these logs beyond standard operational debugging.
3. Data retention
License records (email, key, plan, creation date) are retained for the duration of the subscription and up to 3 years afterwards for accounting purposes. Trial records are retained for 1 year to enforce the one-trial-per-email policy.
4. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact phil@philippnagel.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
5. Cookies
This website does not use tracking or analytics cookies. The only client-side storage used is localStorage to remember your dark/light theme preference.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers.
